I had a run of interviews I did while I owned a music related business in Texas. My company specialized in classic 80s hard rock/metal. Interviewing these artists presented many exciting opportunties.
Lost in the Gump
When I moved to Montgomery, Alabama, it was neccessary to close my music promotions company. Unfortunately all of my digital media and computer archives were lost in a major server/host/compter issue. I feared these interviews were lost forever.
Back from Oblivion
Fortunately, I managed to recover a portion of these transcriptions a couple of years ago. While I remain saddened by the large number of interviews that are still lost, at least the ones featured here survived.
Interviews
Some of the earlier interviews were only 10-15 questions. As time progressed the interviews became a bit longer. There’s some some silly things thron in the mix too. Most of these artists have been answering the same questions forever. Trying to ask clever or interesting questions was challenging.
Interviews Format
Each interview starts with a present day reflection on the conversations. Each one ends with a 2019 Artist Update. In the spirit of what I do now, we have edited most profanity out of the original transcripts.
Naughty Words
Most of the naughty words have been replaced with symbols like $@2! You get the essence of the interview, but cleaned up. That being said, I placed still place a PARENTAL ADVISORY on the posts due to the nature of some comments. This is rock n roll after all. Sometimes the artists can be a little colorful. Other times they are discussing some heavier subjects. I hope you enjoy this blast from my past.
