I just added a whole bunch of new posters at 7Shadows Market this week. The shop is stocked with great selections including; anime, classic musicians, as well geeky pop culture favorites. Posters are a fantastic way to create a living space that truly shows your vibe.
In My Room
When I was growing up I was blessed to have my own bedroom. My room was my sanctuary. It was the only place in the home that was “mine”. Sure, I didn’t really own it, but my parents were kind enough to let me pretend it was mine while they paid the mortgage. It all started with Batman and Mister Spock. In a short amount of time, Kiss, The Six Million Dollar Man, Farrah Fawcett, Star Wars, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Gamblers items made there way into my chamber.
As the years passed, I was allowed to pinup even more stuff and various magazine clippings from “Hit Parader”, “Circus” and “Metal Edge”. I had a “Zero Paint Policy”. Not an inch of paint could be visible on my walls. I even thumbtacked stuff on the ceiling. The opportunity to customize my own living area allowed me to feel at ease in my room. It was my fortress of solitude, music room, museum, study hall, and entertainment venue. Periodically I rotated my wall art. I’d take stuff off the walls. Then I’d replace them with some new items. Then I eventually returned the pulled items back into the decor.
Diggin’ My Faves
Kiss, Alice Cooper, L.A. Guns, Lita Ford, Ratt, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Stryper, Cinderella, Bon Jovi, Dokken, Faster Pussycat, WASP, Rock Goddess, Heather Locklear, Heather Thomas, and Lisa Hartman were just a few of the folks that made their way into the mix. Kiss had to have them largest representation. That was my second rule (in conjunction with the previously stated “Zero Paint Policy”).
Home Sweet Home
It’s not the bill paying that makes me feel like I own my home. It’s all the images plastered all over the walls. My first home was a mini museum of fandom and geekery. Various framed prints lined the walls. The whole walk around the house included a grand tour of my favorite recording artists along with a healthy dose of action figures pinned in the areas where the posters couldn’t reach.
Body Slams, Films & Jams
Pro wrestling had a big space in that house. WCW favorites like the Four Horseman, Sting, Chris Jericho and the WWF’s Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels were framed in my home office/music room. Music memorabilia and a big wall of wrestling action figures were also housed in that jam space. The Crow, Lord of the Rings, and Sandra Bullock rounded out the other big themes in that home.
Many of you have purchased vintage posters from 7Shadows Market. Most all of those have come from my personal collection. It’s really cool to be able to pass my memories to others.
This whole trip of self expression and creating the ultimate vibe in your living area ( rec room, studio, work space, dormitory, etc. ). 7Shadows Market has the largest poster selection in town. I’m always adding more items so the inventory could change frequently. I feel it’s really important to keep inventory fresh with new styles replacing the ones that sell out. Some of the more recent additions include Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Blondie, Siouxsie, Def Leppard, Run DMC, K-Pop megastars BTS (Bangtan Boys), Transformers, Scarface, and several Joker styles. Even more anime favorites have been added including: Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan, Sailor Moon, Hunter X Hunter.
Some of the timeless classics that have been the top sellers in the shop have been been replenished as well including Dracula (Bela Lugosi), Led Zeppelin, Death Note, Naruto and Doctor Who. Take a look at the most recent snapshot of the poster inventory at 7Shadows Market with the link below. (Please note, availability subject to change do to quantity on hand.) As always, thank you for your support. Keep on Geekin’ On my friends.
I’d also like to take moment to thank my parents for allowing me to destroy the sheetrock in their home. I know I really made a mess of things with all of the pushpins, staples, nails and miscellaneous decorative wall scars. My parents are my heroes for many reasons. They always allowed me the freedom of personal expression. I am forever grateful. Mom and Pops, I love you.
